Toronto

It was a long drive from Ludington to Toronto, but not bad if we ignore the fact that we managed to pick the Canada border crossing lane with the probie. But eventually we convinced her that we really are just two little old ladies. After days driving through the heartland and staying in towns with population 784; 8,600; etc. (excepting Minneapolis) it was a bit of a shock to come into Toronto. See below, the view from our rooms at the Sheraton. Not to mention the valet parking and the bell hops. And some really good food.

Unfortunately, we only had one day to spend in Toronto - we had to make choices and selected a visit to the First people exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum and the CN Tower.

Above are pictures taken at the University of Toronto campus - we enjoyed our walk through the campus. It was pleasantly quiet, compared to the construction noise we found on most of the downtown streets. The economy in toronto seems to be doing just fine - below a square in the city with decorations.

Ok, you know who that is Heide in Toronto

The CN Tower

The tower is quite impressive- unfortunately, the sky was not as blue and clear as it appears on the pictures - weird, after all they were taken at the time! Birgit was very disappointed - she had hoped to take some really cool pictures from the tower, but I think she did an excellent job anyway.

Unfortunately, due to the hazy sky, no  pictures of Niagara taken from the tower, so  we had to go there
