SUN Program

Welcome to our College of Education Self-care Initiative, informally called Self-care for U at Northridge, the SUN Program.

It is so wonderful that you are considering self-care as an important way to care for yourself and keep balance and health in your life. Self-care means taking responsibility for yourself to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle at work and in your personal world through individually determined, proactive activities. You are at your best when you attend to yourself in equal measure to others in day-to-day living!

COE Self-Care Activities Spring 2019 - Week 2

Welcome back to spring semester and our COE staff and faculty self-care activities! Today, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., we encourage you to participate in the third annual National Day of Racial Healing. Welcome back to spring semester and our COE staff and faculty self-care activities! This spring, we continue our theme of “The many ways to meditate and how this can benefit our lives.” Our spring activities will have new and exciting experts and include the topics of meditation and chair yoga at your desk, meditation and breathing to reduce stress especially tailored for educators and staff, and meditation and fractal art as an immersive experience. This week we encourage you to attend a special event (with lunch) on Tuesday, Dec. 4th from 12-1 in the TLCC library on Mindful Meditation and Sound with David Boyns, Director of the CSUN Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing. On Wednesday, November 28th, from 1-1:30 in the CTL conference room we will offer our final self-care meditation session of the semester with Josh Einhorn.
