CSUN Men’s Soccer Team Impresses as Cooper Wenzel Shines in Goal
The CSUN men’s soccer team will be hosting LMU on Sunday night. This game is also the Welcome Back Alumni Game for the Matadors. LMU comes into the game with a 3-0-3 record and is ranked in the top 25. CSUN goalkeeper Cooper Wenzel has been in top form and leads the Big West in saves. The all-time series between CSUN and LMU is currently tied 11-11-2. Fans can catch the game on ESPN+. -- BVM Sports
CSUN loses 2-1 to Hawai’i in Big West Opener, Ashly Torres scores first career goal
CSUN’s second-half rally fell short as they were defeated 2-1 by Hawai’i in their Big West opener. Ashly Torres scored her first career goal to cut the deficit, but the Matadors were unable to make a comeback. Hayden Mauldin made a solid effort in goal with nine saves. Despite the loss, coach Christine Johnson acknowledged the positives from the match and will look to regroup for their next game against Portland State. CSUN women’s volleyball team concludes non-conference tournament play
The CSUN Matadors women’s volleyball team is wrapping up their non-conference schedule with matches against UTRGV, San Jose State, and the San Francisco Dons. After an 0-3 weekend in Portland, the Matadors are looking to bounce back with wins. UTRGV comes into the weekend with a 6-4 record, while San Jose State is 7-3. The San Francisco Dons have a 3-6 record and have won their last four matches against CSUN. Graduate transfer Kelsey Knudsen and redshirt junior Taylor Hunter have been standouts for the Matadors, and junior Carisa Barron is adding double-doubles to her impressive season. The Matadors will soon shift their focus to Big West play. -- BVM Sports

CSUN Women’s Soccer team opens Big West play with a match against Hawai’i before hosting Portland State. CSUN is looking to bounce back from two recent losses against Idaho and UCLA. The team’s goalkeeper, Hayden Mauldin, has been a standout player this season. CSUN holds a series lead against both Hawai’i and Portland State, but both teams have had recent success against the Matadors. OC TV show host is former police officer who received Medal of Courage
