What is Greek 101?
Greek 101 is a three to four hour in-person training for potential new members/interests interested in joining a CSUN fraternity or sorority.
The training is a mandatory University requirement. Any student that does not complete the training WILL NOT be able to join a fraternity or sorority.
The training includes presentations on:
- Bystander intervention
- Alcohol and substance use
- Title IX
- Unconscious bias
- Hazing Prevention
Greek 101 Important Details
- Greek 101 is only offered during the fall and spring semesters.
- There are two (2) different training dates offered during the fall and spring semesters.
- Students must attend at least one (1) session.
- Students must arrive on time and stay for the entire training. Students that arrive late and/or leave early will not receive attendance credit.
- Students must attend the training during the semester they are interested in joining the fraternity or sorority.
- If a student previously completed the training but was not initiated, the student must complete the training again.
Students are required to sign-up in advance for Greek 101.
Spring 2025 Greek 101 Details
Session 1: Saturday March 1, 2025
- Time: 8:30am to 1:00pm (check-in starts at 8:30am, training starts at 9:00am)
- Location: USU Grand Salon
Session 2: Sunday March 9, 2025
- Time: 8:30am to 1:00pm (check-in starts at 8:30am, training starts at 9:00am)
- Location: USU Northridge Recreation Center (NRC)
Requesting Accommodations
Requests for sign language interpreters must be made at least fourteen (14) business days in advance. Students submit request for interpreting services when signing up for the training.
