SUN Program

Welcome to our College of Education Self-care Initiative, informally called Self-care for U at Northridge, the SUN Program.

It is so wonderful that you are considering self-care as an important way to care for yourself and keep balance and health in your life. Self-care means taking responsibility for yourself to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle at work and in your personal world through individually determined, proactive activities. You are at your best when you attend to yourself in equal measure to others in day-to-day living!

As we begin our first week of self-care in the spring semester, I want to recognize that self-care can mean supporting others as well as ourselves. Please extend your thoughts and support to Justine Su and Ellen Edeburn, who lost their mothers, Jan Fish, who lost her husband, and Wendy Murawski, who lost her ex-husband over the holiday break. We begin our spring COE self-care activities with meditation from 1:30-2PM this Thursday, January 30th, And be sure to mark your schedules for our first monthly presentation on Music for Healing the Body, Mind and Emotion with presenter and musician Brian Lottman on Tuesday, Feb. 4th.
