CSUN Women’s Soccer Hosts Cal Poly & UCSB on Senior Night

CSUN Women's Soccer is set to host its final two home games this week, including Senior Night on Sunday, where they will recognize their senior class. The Matadors face Cal Poly on Thursday at 6 p.m. and UCSB on Sunday at 7 p.m. With a current record of 4-9-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the Big West, CSUN is tied for fifth place but remains in contention for a conference tournament spot. They recently earned a point in a 2-2 draw against UC Riverside, with junior Yoshi Rubalcava leading the team in goals. -- BVM Sports

CSUN Tennis Team Competes in ITA Regionals and Triton Invite

CSUN Women's Tennis is set to compete this week in the 2024 ITA Southwest Regional Championship in San Diego and the Triton Fall Invitational in La Jolla. The regionals, running from October 17-22, will feature five Matadors competing in both singles and doubles events. Meanwhile, freshmen Sydney Wilson and Madison Shepperson will represent CSUN at the Triton Invitational from October 17-20. Last time out, the Matadors showcased strong performance at the Beach Fall Tennis Tournament, winning 16 matches across singles and doubles. -- BVM Sports

CSUN Men's Soccer suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat against Sacramento State in a Big West matchup. The Hornets dominated the first half, scoring four goals before extending their lead after halftime with a fifth goal. Andy Grammer bringing solo show to Iowa City’s Englert Theatre

Aside from the mandolin, Grammer plays trumpet, guitar and piano. He began writing songs at 15. At 20, he left Binghamton University in Vestal, N.Y., and returned to Los Angeles. In 2007, he graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a bachelor’s degree in music studies. That’s where he met his wife, singer Aijia Grammer, and they now have two daughters. -- The Gazette
