Haitian American Film Festival Founders Join Forces to Increase Visibility of Caribbean Heritage Filmmakers

Jacquil Constant is a Haitian American independent filmmaker with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Production and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studieswith an emphasis on Pan-African Studies and Cinema Television and Arts from California State University Northridge (CSUN). In 2006, Jacquil established his own production company, Constant Production, which has various music videos, short films, and commercial productions to its credit. Sparks Announce 2024 Broadcast Schedule

Rahshaun Haylock is back for his fourth season with the Los Angeles Sparks as a play-by-play commentator. Haylock is also the sports reporter at KTLA and the voice of the South Bay Lakers. Prior to joining the Sparks, he served as a host and reporter at FOX Sports West/Prime Ticket, covering the CIF Southern Section Game of the Week and college basketball. Haylock graduated from California State University, Northridge and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. -- Los Angeles Sparks

How Lowriders Tell The Story Of An Entire Culture

“I’m really using the cars to help tell the story of Chicano and Black L.A., and how young men were using cars to express identity, to build community,” said Dr. Denise Sandoval, a professor of Chicano Studies at Cal State Northridge and part of the curating team. “What we were drawn to was the way that people of color also began to explore their identities, learn customizing skills, and build community.
