PPM Chargeback Rates

Revised PPM Chargeback Rates – Effective July 1, 2024

CSU Executive Order 847 requires full reimbursement for actual labor and indirect costs for non-maintenance related work performed by Physical Plant Management (PPM) employees.  The rates are calculated annually using December 31 actual PPM employee salary and benefits costs with all required campus and overhead fees.  For budgeting purposes, the rates are published in January for July 1 implementation.

Implementation

The 2023-24 chargeback rates will remain in effect for all work estimated to occur on or before June 30, 2023.  All 2024-25 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and any projects estimated to occur on or after July 1, 2024 will use the 2024-25 rates.

 

For large requests or requests out of the scope of routine maintenance a Peoplesoft chargeback is required.

  • The department will submit a Peoplesoft chargeback requesting an estimate.
  • The Estimate box will need to be checked and the encumbered amount entered as $1.00.
  • PPM staff will quote the request. The quoted amount will be sent through PeopleSoft
  • The department can approve or cancel the estimate
  • Once the approved chargeback is received by Work Control, the chargeback will be processed.
  • The work can then be scheduled.

The examples above (or below) are for general guidance purposes and are consistent in most situations, however exceptions are possible in some unique situations.  For clarification, please contact PPM Work Control Center.
