Current Art & Events
The CSUN Art Galleries, which include the Main and West Galleries located in the Art & Design Center and Manzanita Gallery on the 2nd Floor of Manzanita Hall, present multifaceted exhibitions and programs of professional and student artists that reflect the many global communities that make up CSUN and Los Angeles. More information about each of our Galleries and public programs can be found below.
Main Gallery Exhibitions
The Main Gallery (approximately 2600 sq.ft) presents dynamic, large-scale exhibitions of both professional and students artists. During the Fall and beginning of the Spring semesters, both solo and thematic exhibitions of prominent professional artists bring current discussions within the larger Los Angeles art world to campus. Exhibitions at the end of the school year celebrate the vision and creativity of CSUN students in the Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition and the MA|MFA Graduate Exhibition. Both exhibitions give visibility to these emerging artists and also help students prepare for professional exhibition opportunities once they graduate.
West Gallery Exhibitions
The West Gallery (approximately 480 sq.ft.) is a largely interdisciplinary space, presenting exhibitions created through partnerships with other CSUN departments, student groups on campus, and local community-based organizations.
Manzanita Gallery Exhibitions
Manzanita Gallery (approximately 150 sq.ft.), located on the opposite end of campus in Manzanita Hall, is a satellite space presenting exhibitions organized by Department of Art & Design student clubs. Student club organizers are supported by Art Galleries staff to create professional exhibitions of their peers’ work and develop skills in exhibition organizing, artwork installation, and creating didactic and promotional materials.
