How to Apply for Student Housing

Waitlist Information

CSUN Student Housing started a waitlist for the 2024-2025 academic year for both The Park Apartments and Suites and The Village Apartments. Students on the waitlist can check their waitlist number in the Student Housing portal. Please see the video below to learn more about our waitlist process. If you can't find your waitlist number, please contact our office by phone at 818-677-2160 or email at housing@csun.edu.

Things to know before you apply

The Park Apartments and Suites are designed for undergraduate, graduate students and offer multiple housing options ideally suited for the various members of our student population.

The Village Apartments (Family Housing) are designed for graduate and undergraduate students with spouses/domestic partners and/or dependent children.

CSUN has a total enrollment of 33,970, but only 2,781 bed spaces are currently available at The Park Apartments and Suites for the 2024/25 academic year. Once our application opened, all spaces filled up quickly and our waitlist reached more than 2000 people. We will continue to send offers to students as space becomes available through April 2025, however, students on the waitlist who need housing for fall 2024 should plan for other options in case a bed space does not become available.

Submitting the 2024-2025 Application
Things to know before you apply:

  • Application fee: There is a $50 housing application fee and a $50 meal plan application fee (if applicable)

  • Know the rules: Take a look through the Student Housing Rules and Regulations before submitting your application.
  • Gender-neutral housing: Student housing offers gender-neutral housing to all students. Gender Inclusive Housing is designed for LGBTQIA+ students and their allies who do not feel comfortable expressing their identity in a traditional same-gender housing space. If you have questions about gender-inclusive housing, please email Residential Life at reslife@csun.edu.
  • COVID-19 vaccinations and testing: In accordance with the CSU COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, vaccinations against COVID-19 are strongly recommended, but no longer required. Additionally, starting the summer 2023 semester, Student Housing residents will no longer be required to provide COVID-19 testing prior to move-in.
  • Cancellations: If you no longer plan to live in Student Housing or have decided to attend another university, you can submit a cancellation form in the StarRez Student Housing Portal. In the “Forms” link, select Academic Year 2024-2025 and complete the Request for Release Before Move-In form.
