39th Annual CSUN Assistive Technology Conference Has Concluded
August 2023
As our planning continues for the 2024 CSUN AT Conference, the time has finally arrived to start accepting submissions. This is a particularly exciting milestone in our planning because it gives our staff and Program Committee an early preview of all the amazing innovations and topics the community brings to the table. Every year generates something new and exciting!
Make sure to read through to the end of this month's newsletter for an important announcement! Hint…it might have something to do with 2024's Keynote!
TIME TO SUBMIT!
We welcome the community around the globe to take part in the Call for Presentations (CFP). CFP is integral to how the CSUN AT Conference takes shape each year. We want to see your research, innovations, and ideas so make sure to submit!
Let's break down each CFP...we've got three!
The Journal Call for Papers highlights scientific research, with all proceedings from the Journal Track being published in the annual award-winning Journal on Technology and Persons with Disabilities. Submissions will be accepted August 17 through September 7, 2023. Review all submission guidelines on our Journal Call for Papers webpage. All submissions are reviewed and the best submission will be honored with the Dr. Arthur I. Karshmer Award for Assistive Technology Research.
Ben Kosa, 2023's award winner reflects on the experience: "Receiving the Dr. Arthur I. Karshmer Award for Assistive Technology Research for our work on creating American Sign Language accessible informed consent was a great honor. This was the first conference that I had ever attended, and this conference is an exceptional place to see and publish great work on assistive/accessibility technology, network with people in both research and industry, and learn about the latest and greatest in assistive tech!"
Looking for a great way to showcase your knowledge and expertise in creative long form? Another avenue for involvement is the Call for Pre-Conference Workshops! Pre-Conference Workshops focus on professional development through in-depth training and useful skill-building. Find more information on proposal requirements on the Pre-Conference Workshop overview webpage. Submissions will be accepted August 17 through September 26, 2023.
Last but certainly not least, the General Call for Presentations offers opportunities to present new concepts in the general disability domain that cover various topics. Get your submissions ready to submit September 7 through September 26, 2023.
All three submission windows are close on our heels! Visit the Presenter Information page to help prepare your submissions and for more information on each of the three CFPs
