Her films include The Unafraid (PBS) about D.A.C.A. students, Paraiso for Sale (PBS), Children in No Man’s Land (PBS) on unaccompanied child migrants and Maid in America (PBS Independent Lens) about domestic workers in Los Angeles. Anayansi is previously a Chicken & Egg Fellow, a Creative Capital Artist, a Rockefeller Media Fellow and a Film Expert for The American Film Showcase. Anayansi has taught documentary filmmaking in five continents and was a visiting professor at UCLA, California State University, Northridge and Chapman University. Debra Wilson is an award-winning director and producer of scripted and non-scripted projects. In 2020 her documentary short film The Lucky Ones streamed in several festivals and won the Stop Stigma Award at the Canberra Mental Health Film Festival. Debra has also directed numerous corporate, marketing, and branding projects. As a location manager, she has worked on such films and series as 13 Reasons Why, Sense8, Blindspotting, The Master, and Fruitvale Station. Debra is an SF FilmHouse Resident and BAVC MediaMaker Fellow alum. She is a member of Brown Girls Doc Mafia and Women of Color Unite.
