CSUN women’s volleyball team falls to Hawai’i in straight sets

CSUN women’s volleyball team struggles offensively and drops a straight-set decision at Hawai’i in a Big West match. Despite the efforts of Perri Starkey, Iye Okolo, and Carisa Barron, who each had a team-high four kills, CSUN’s offense struggled throughout the match. The host Rainbow Wahine dominated with a .402 hitting percentage, while CSUN hit -.035 as a team. Additionally, CSUN did not record a block, and Hawai’i had a 32-23 advantage in digs. The Rainbow Wahine won all three sets comfortably. CSUN will look to bounce back in their upcoming four-match homestand against UC Riverside. -- BVM Sports

WGA and the studios reach tentative deal to end writers’ strike

SoCal Museums to Host ‘Climates of Inequality’

In addition to stories drawn from communities across the U.S., Mexico and beyond, two local narratives will be on view: “Reimagining Immigrants and Environmental Justice,” a collaboration among students and faculty from CSU Northridge, UC Santa Barbara, and Padres Pioneros; and “Witnessing the Slow Violence of the Supply Chain,” a collaboration among students and faculty from UC Riverside and People’s Collective for Environmental Justice. Feds award $1 billion to plant trees, combat extreme heat

Other grantees include Cal State Northridge, which will put $5 million toward tree planting in disadvantaged Los Angeles neighborhoods.
