Gourd dancing, 11 a.m., followed by the Grand Entry procession that includes blessings, greetings and songs, including members of Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians. Free admission. The 38th Annual CSUN Powwow will take place Nov. 25, to celebrate American Indian communities of Los Angeles and throughout Southern California. CSULB will get all their textbooks for a flat fee under new program
Cal State Northridge has implemented a similar program, and following its launch, results from a survey showed that 94% of student respondents felt that the program improved their education experience, and 80% said that it improved their grades, according to CSU’s website. -- Long Beach Post

Coral Reef Recovery Subject of UVI Resillience Probe
The objectives of a Coral Reef Resilience Study that began earlier this year were discussed at a workshop held in November on UVI’s Orville Kean Campus.
