Mikayla Carman Named Big West Field Player of the Week

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—Mikayla Carman was named Big West Field Player of the Week on Monday, May 6. In CSUN's three-game sweep over UC San Diego, Carman had six hits, five runs, and five RBIs. On Saturday, May 4, Carman helped CSUN defeat the Tritons 9-7 with two vital hits. She hit a single up the middle in the third inning to help the Matadors trim the deficit to 6-2. She then scored herself to pull CSUN within 6-3. Her final hit was a double to bring in two runs and tie the game for the Matadors at 6-6 in the fourth. -- BVM Sports

CSUN Falls at Hawai’i, 5-0

HONOLULU---CSUN Baseball fell for the second-straight night at Hawai'i as the Matadors lost 5-0 on Saturday at Les Murakami Stadium. Ryan Halamicek pitched into the seventh inning, striking out four batters. The Matadors were held to three hits on the night. HOW IT HAPPENED The Rainbow Warriors jumped ahead in the first inning against Halamicek. Three consecutive hits to start the game, produced the game's first run as Austin Machado hit an RBI double. -- BVM Sports
