CSUN Softball Stars Make 2023-24 Academic All-District Team

CSUN Softball players Shaylan Whatman, Mikayla Carman, Lauryn Carranco, Isabella Alonso, and Kaylee Escutia received recognition for their academic achievements by being selected for the 2023-24 Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Communicators, with three of them advancing to the Academic All-America Ballot. -- BVM Sports

CSUN Athletes Excel at NCAA Championships Qualifying Events, Trey Knight Makes History

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—CSUN completed day one of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field West First Rounds on Wednesday at John McDonnell Field. Trey Knight qualified for the NCAA Championships in the hammer throw while Matador sprinters James Crawford and Chase Mars qualified for both the 100m and 200m quarterfinals and Chris Pitts advanced to the 400m quarterfinals on Friday. -- BVM Sports

Kevin Pineda Joins CSUN Women’s Soccer Coaching Staff

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN Women’s Soccer head coach Gina Brewer has announced the hiring of Kevin Pineda as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator to the Matadors for the 2024 season. A Los Angeles native, Pineda joins the Matadors after spending the previous three seasons at Seattle Reign FC of the National Women’s Soccer League. “I am extremely excited to welcome Kevin on to our coaching staff as an assistant coach and our recruiting coordinator,” said Brewer. -- BVM Sports
