NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN's Lauryn Carranco was named the Big West Pitcher of the Week for a second time this season on March 4, as announced by the league office. Carranco has pitched a total of 57.2 innings in ten games this season, five of which were complete games. Carranco would pitch two more complete games this weekend at the San Diego Classic, both of which Matador victories. NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—No. 23 CSUN Water Polo posted a wire-to-wire 14-5 win over Siena in its home opener on Thursday at Matador Pool. Dorottya Telek and Anna Pal had four goals and two assists apiece while Shelby Hovanesian added three goals and two assists. HOW IT HAPPENED Pal opened up the scoring 36 seconds into the match while Telek added to the lead less than minute later for an early 2-0 lead. Lucia Fernandez Caballero put Siena on the scoreboard at the 6:22 mark of the first period, but CSUN answered with a 3-0 run. -- BVM Sports
