The No. 16 CSUN Matadors lost a five-set non-conference match to No. 10 Pepperdine (25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-12). Redshirt freshman Jalen Phillips led all hitters with 16 kills, senior Griffin Walters added 15 kills, and fellow senior Kyle Hobus chipped in 13 kills. Junior setter Donovan Constable posted 39 assists and 13 digs while serving four aces.
