Northwoods League: Willmar Stingers back under the bright lights
One of the players that has looked sharp early on is right-handed pitcher Jayson Newman. The 6-foot-4 redshirt senior from California State University-Northridge is back with the Stingers after splitting time on the mound and as a designated hitter in 2018. With that as the backdrop, Cal State Northridge forward Lamine Diane is both interesting and perilously difficult to evaluate for many reasons. Diane, who is listed at 6’7 and 205 pounds, was a three-star high school prospect out of Findlay Prep in Nevada and, with his pedigree, it might feel surprising that Diane ended up in the Big West Conference.
