Paragon Announces Glenn Wells as COO

Glenn brings several decades' worth of experience, established over thirty years working in several leading aerospace and defense companies, to Paragon. Wells' lengthy career includes roles as Vice President and General Manager at Sun Country Industries, General Manager at Celestica Inc. in Tucson, Arizona, Sr. Vice President & General Manager of Composite Engineering (Military & Defense products), as well as Vice President of Operations for Cubic Defense Systems (Military, Defense & commercial products). Prior to those positions, Glenn spent a decade at Rockwell International. Wells holds a Bachelor's degree from California State University Northridge, a Master's in Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University, and multiple other business certifications. -- PR Newswire

Fire Chief Fish retires after 36 years of service

Fish has been with the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Department for five years. He got his start in Los Angeles County – earning a bachelor’s in organizational leadership from Woodbury University and a master’s in public administration from California State University Northridge – where he worked in fire protection for 31 years. His family moved from Glendale to Carpinteria the weekend of Avofest, Fish told CVN in 2018 (CVN Vol. 25, No. 5). -- Coastal View News

Jewish Men’s Choir Brings Joy in Several Languages

Weber came to the choir with a strong musical background. She received a bachelor’s degree in music from San Diego State University and then earned a master’s degree in music from Cal State Northridge. A pianist, she studied the art of accompaniment, later performing with opera singers in the U.S. and abroad. She also is a songwriter, having won grand prizes in the John Lennon songwriting competition, and the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Among other accomplishments, she was the choral arranger and conductor for the soundtrack of the 2019 movie One Little Finger. -- San Diego Jewish World

Rabbi-Cantor Cheri Weiss Combines Love of Judaism and Music

After settling in Los Angeles, she decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in music from Cal State Northridge. “Those years turned me from a singer into a musician,” she recalled. “I took four or five years of music theory including music analysis. You are taking ear training, taking music history. You have to take piano; you have to pass a piano efficiency exam. There were musicology classes. It was a lot. It wasn’t just open my mouth and sing, which of course, was a huge part of it. You were really learning the nuts and bolts of music. I loved it. SSI Editor-in-Chief Scott Goldfine Joins Elite Interactive Solutions as Marketing Director

Prior to SSI, Goldfine spent 11 years in content creation roles with Display News Network, at the time the world’s largest teletext news media service. A certified alarm technician, former cable-TV tech, and audio company entrepreneur, Goldfine graduated with honors from Cal State, Northridge with a Media Management degree in Radio-Television-Film, and also earned a Certificate in Accounting from Santa Monica College. -- Campus Safety

Community college alumni lead the way for the next generation of scholars

Ms. Laura Barroso, Vice Chancellor for Human Resources, attended multiple VCCCD colleges before transferring to Cal State Northridge for her bachelor’s degree in sociology and then to Antioch University in Santa Barbara for her master’s degree in psychology. 2023 Gerald Loeb Award Finalists, Lifetime Honorees and Awards Event in New York City Announced by UCLA Anderson

Rivera Brooks was part of a team of nine Los Angeles Times business reporters and editors who won a Loeb Award in 1985 for coverage of corporate takeovers. She was inducted into the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Hall of Fame in 2017. In 2022, she was named one of California's most influential Latina journalists by the California Chicano News Media Association. Born and reared in Los Angeles, she graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a degree in journalism. -- KTLA
