Essay Assignment:

USC ENST 100  Develop an essay examining the role of the transition zone between the Oregonian ocean province and the Californian ocean province in the area of Santa Cruz Island.  In what ways does the transition zone create a unique ecosystem for the various habitat represented?

CSUN POLS 461  Santa Cruz Island is part of Channel Islands National Park and the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, as well as within the jurisdiction of the California Department of Fish and Game.  What are the mandates of these agencies, and how do their various management regimes interact in order to resolve environmental challenges?
