Applied
Policy is the linkage between academic policy studies and
public problem solving. If public policy is a public response to a
specific public problem, applied policy work is the effort to improve those
public policy responses. This linkage exists in several formats,
including direct policy consultation between experts and elected policy makers
or staff, advisory committees, and science panels. I am currently
involved in several areas, including Marine Resource
Policy, Urban Transportation Policy, and Smart
Growth. I am available for contracts in most areas of
environmental policy and resource management.
