Why Study Art and Design?
By studying art and design, you will gain a sense of who you are as a creator and observer of visual culture. Learn how to use different materials and methods to create a compelling body of work and tell your story. Think critically about your own creativity and that of the world around you. Understand how art impacts society.
A B.A. in art is valuable because it sets you on the path to develop a career. You will be suited for a career in a variety of creative industries such as illustration, photography, design, fine art, animation, fabrication, public art and more. If interested, you'll be prepared to pursue M.A. and M.F.A. programs in your chosen medium. You can also opt to take state-accredited art education courses and begin your career as an educator.
