3 Wins Fitness Featured on KABC TV

What started out as a small fitness program in local parks has expanded to four local parks and three programs at sister CSUs. Participation is free.  The program was recently featured on KABC TV: "Most local parks and recreation centers offer fitness programs, but one particular group in San Fernando has offered a 'win, win, win' for all concerned. 'The three wins stands for the participants, community health and our students,' California State University, Northridge kinesiology professor Steven Loy said. Loy started the '3WINS' program in 2011 with a handful of student teachers who taught a small group in San Fernando. Now his students are running workouts at nine parks, pulling in about 250 people a day." Read more

It is with sadness that we share the news that Carol S. Kelly, EdD, Professor Emeritus, Child and Adolescent Development, passed away on February 17 following a brief illness. Since she began her career with CSUN in 1969, she was a vibrant teacher and dedicated mentor to many students, committed to helping them discover their strengths, and find new opportunities. The Child and Adolescent Development Alumni Chapter held a remembrance gathering to honor her life. Read more

Dodgers and Campanella Foundations Nurture CSUN PT Program

The CSUN Department of Physical Therapy has a longstanding partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and the Roy and Roxie Campanella Foundation. The foundations have joined together for the past four years to provide the Roy and Roxie Campanella Scholarship to CSUN physical therapy students in the renowned doctorate program, which started with five scholarships at its inception and has grown to its present number of 20 for the 2016-17 academic year.
