HHD Faculty and New Emeriti Named at 2017 CSUN Honored Faculty Event

Just hours after the last graduates crossed the stage in front of the Delmar T. Oviatt Library to accept their diplomas on May 22, CSUN's top professors crossed another stage to accept high honors and shake hands with President Dianne F. Harrison. The president, Provost Yi Li and the CSUN Foundation hosted the annual Honored Faculty Reception, which included the awarding of emeritus status to 29 veteran professors, (four from HHD). Colleagues, students, relatives and administrators gathered in the Grand Salon of the University Student Union to pay tribute. Read more

Hard Work, Determination, Graduation!

It took a lot of hard work, late nights in the library, mastering of complicated schedules, seemingly endless papers and projects, and the understanding and support of loved ones. The payoff begins this weekend with CSUN's 2017 commencement ceremonies. Nearly 11,500 CSUN students will participate and receive congratulations from university leaders as they celebrate their graduation to the cheers of thousands of family members, friends and fellow classmates. Health Administration Bachelor of Science candidate Jessica Barajas is among the students whose stories are featured in CSUN Today. Read more

FCS TRENDS Fashion Show Goes Beyond the Ordinary

Transcendent: Beyond the Ordinary, the 38th annual TRENDS Fashion Show, took place on May 7 at CSUN in front of an audience of more than 400. The event kicked off with a dancing performance by NADESHIKO, an all-female Japanese-dance crew. The fashion show showcased the collections of graduating senior designers in the FCS Apparel Design and Merchandising program and featured a special presentation graduate students. Future designers, students from the Advanced Construction and Pattern Making classes, also designed garments that were featured on the catwalk. Read more
