Christina Chao: Our 2015 Wolfson Scholar Nominee

Christina Chao got her Bachelor’s in Family and Consumer Sciences/Consumer Affairs, a degree she pursued because, as a new student, she discovered a passion for protecting people’s rights and empowering them with information.  One of her professors in the Consumer Affairs Option, Tom Yi Cai said, “Christina approaches solutions in innovative ways and incorporates real-world issues into her analyses,” and that’s just the kind of quality that made her the 2015 Wolfson Scholar nominee for the College of Health and Human Development. Physical Therapy Scholars Honored by Dodger and Campanella Foundations

A little bit of Matador Red mixed in with Dodger Blue on the perfectly manicured grass at Chavez Ravine when a group of California State University, Northridge physical therapy students were honored before a recent Dodger game. The 10 CSUN students benefited from a special partnership between the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and the Roy and Roxie Campanella Foundation, which provides the students with physical therapy scholarships. Scholarships like these are a rarity, and a testament to a longstanding relationship between a Hall of Famer and the university. Read more

Honors Convocation Recognition for Kimberly Arellano

Student Kimberly Arellano

Health Sciences major Kimberly Arellano (Public Health) is the recipient of the Karen, Leon and Rita Goldstein-Saulter Memorial Award. She has maintained a 3.83 GPA and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the 2015 Dean’s Award for the College of Health and Human Development and a fellowship with the National Institutes of Health – Maximizing Access to Research Careers Predoctoral Fellowship.
