Speech-Language Pathology: A Career for Jacqueline Dinh

Communication Disorders and Sciences student Jacqueline Dinh is featured in CSUN Today with a story and video that tell how the undergraduate program in Speech-Language Pathology and support from scholarships opened doors for her and led her to a career she loves.  She is working with other students in the department to establish a peer mentoring group and she got a job off campus with the Center for Autism Related Disorders where she has found rewarding work with children.  She plans to come back to CSUN for her Master’s. TRENDS Fashion Show Wows CSUN Campus

The 36th annual TRENDS Fashion Show, “A Universal Dream: Through the Eyes of the Designer,” was held on April 26 in the Northridge Center in the University Student Union. The designs and creations of twelve apparel design and merchandising students from the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences' Fashion Show Production class were featured in the show sponsored by TRENDS, the apparel design and merchandising student club.  67 designs were showcased. Graduating seniors presented their collections of five to six different pieces with the help of student models who walked the runway. Read more

Healthcare Answers for Underserved Populations

What are some of the common misconceptions surrounding the recent measles outbreak?  Are there any new insights into strategic health priorities such as obesity and asthma?  What should health and wellness professionals consider when working with people from underserved communities?  Showing students the many pathways to success in the healthcare field is one of the goals of the five-year, $2 million CAMINO grant from the US Department of Education. The CAMINO Speakers Series highlights some of those pathways by bringing healthcare leaders to campus to share their professional journeys and their expertise with our students. Read more
