About the Event

As part of the Federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024, Congressman Cárdenas secured $963,000 for CSUN's family justice center, StrengthUnited. StrengthUnited's Domestic Violence Community Policing and Advocacy Project seeks to promote public trust between communities and criminal justice agencies through the augmentation of the family justice center community policing program. Pairing advocacy, case management, legal and mental health professionals with Los Angeles Police Department detectives to increase public safety and enhance a coordinated system of care.

StrengthUnited, a chartered center of California State University, Northridge, has served the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys for more than 30 years, supporting the most vulnerable members of our community at critical moments in their lives, and providing prevention, intervention, and education in our community to address violence and abuse at the root. StrengthUnited is an irreplaceable resource for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child maltreatment in our community.
