We are proud that the Michael D. Eisner College of Education remains one of the largest Colleges of Education in the CSU system, providing to our surrounding communities hundreds of outstanding new professionals in the fields of education, counseling, administration, and Deaf Studies. The Eisner College engages in transformative education and initiatives that put into practice our commitment to social justice, equity, access, and inclusion, and supporting the social-emotional well-being of university, school, and community members. I am grateful to our talented faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, all instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our educational programs and community-serving centers. We have reason to be proud as we prepare our students to make positive contributions to our world!

Distributing supplies to parents and kids in need

On Saturday, October 17 the Family Focus Resource Center (FFRC) in collaboration with programs in the Teaching Learning & Counseling Consortium (TLCC) and the Child Development Institute (CDI) distributed PPE, diapers, Parent Notebooks, and Distance Learning Kits to families living in the San Fernando Valley. Before opening the gates of the CDI, cars lined up on adjacent streets. Once the gates opened a steady stream of over 170 cars passed through the distribution center. Read more

Secondary Education hosts first-ever virtual "Mentoring 401" workshop

The Department of Secondary Education hosted its first-ever virtual "Mentoring 401" workshop for Mentor Teachers on October 8, which was a resounding success. Taking advantage of the online format, the 65 participating Mentor Teachers joined their student teachers in their CSUN seminars, to collaborate on strategies for engaging their middle and high school students in virtual instruction.
