The Department of Secondary Education hosted its first-ever virtual "Mentoring 401" workshop for Mentor Teachers on October 8. Taking advantage of the online format, the 65 participating Mentor Teachers joined their student teachers in their CSUN seminars, to collaborate on strategies for engaging their middle and high school students in virtual instruction. This new format was a resounding success: In the workshop evaluation, nearly all participating Mentors indicated that they'd like some or all future "Mentoring 401" workshops to be virtual and to include student teachers. Thanks go to the Schools First Federal Credit Union for providing gift cards for the Mentors.
