Welcome to Spring 2024!

We are proud that the Michael D. Eisner College of Education remains one of the largest Colleges of Education in the CSU system, providing to our surrounding communities hundreds of outstanding new professionals in the fields of education, counseling, administration, and Deaf Studies. The Eisner College engages in transformative education and initiatives that put into practice our commitment to social justice, equity, access, and inclusion, and supporting the social-emotional well-being of university, school, and community members. I am grateful to our talented faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, all instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our educational programs and community-serving centers. We have much to celebrate as we send forth our students to make positive contributions to our world!

Revised Application Process for Early Childhood Program

April 1, 2020

New application deadline is May 1, 2020. Please email your personal statement, electronic versions of all your undergraduate transcripts, and a current resume. You will be interviewed by a team of faculty and current students via Zoom. Read more

Accelerating to Virtual Instruction and Social Distancing for Students and Employees

March 17, 2020

Alternate learning modalities have now been extended through the entirety of the spring semester. Effective as a soon as possible but no later than the end of day Friday, March 20, staff who are not directly instructed to work on campus in person should not come to campus. CSUN will maintain Student Housing and CSUN Dining under these emergency circumstances so long as there is a need to do so, but Student Housing residents who can are encouraged to explore alternate living arrangements. Commencement exercises, hooding ceremonies, and department/credential receptions have been postponed until after the pandemic crisis subsides. Read the full message from President Harrison

COE Self-Care Activities Spring 2020 - Week 9

March 16, 2020

What an unbelievable week we have been through dealing with the ever expanding impact of the corona virus. Unfortunately, this stressful crisis (yes we are in a crisis!) will likely continue for some time. Never have we needed to attend more to our own well-being and those around us. In addition to following the health precautions shared with the public already, please pay attention to yourselves and how you are doing physically and emotionally as staff, caretakers, and educators who are helping so many others during this challenging time. Make time to take care of yourselves. The College of Education self-care program will be offered virtually for the remainder of the Spring Semester. Read more
