Deaf Studies Trip to Cape Town, South Africa

The Deaf Studies department went to Cape Town, South Africa June 17-July 3. We spent two weeks learning South African Sign Language, visiting Deaf schools and businesses, exploring museums such as the Nelson Mandala Museum and the Slave Lodge as well as spending time with locals in Langa, a local township, and EDeaf, a Deaf vocational school. SIMPACT Receives Innovation in Education Award

Eisner College of Education and housed within the Center for Teaching and Learning, received the “Innovation in Education” award from the Valley Economic Alliance this spring.
