Matty's Closet is a resource that provides interview and workplace clothing to CSUN students. It was opened in the fall of 2019 to enhance student confidence by providing access to career-ready clothing. Students who feel good about themselves enter an interview with increased confidence.

Every currently enrolled CSUN student is eligible to visit Matty’s Closet. Each student who visits Matty’s Closet is provided with an outfit and tips on workplace-ready clothing. The visit serves as a career education session, providing the student with information and guidance to make future clothing decisions that fit their body type and clothing preferences.

Matty’s Closet is a program of donated, gently used, and new clothing that fits the criteria of most career-related functions: interviewing, a new job, conferences, etc. The generosity of CSUN’s staff and faculty, employer partners, and the community has helped the Career Center establish this necessary resource with their donations.

Student Outcomes:

• Students will learn about appropriate workplace attire while obtaining a complete outfit for events such as interviews, networking, presentations, etc.
• Students will understand how to select appropriate workplace attire for their body type and workplace identity.
• Students will feel more confident about their job search process and success.
