UTEP tennis moves on to finals in doubles play at SDSU invite

Abrahim was edged in a tightly-contested match with GCU’s Autum Prudhomme, 7-5, 6-4. Kathleen Percegona fell to Jolene Coetzee from California State University, Northridge, 6-2, 6-1. Dibattista was knocked off by CSUN’s Magdalena Hedrzak, 6-2, 6-1. Lastly, Laura Schmitz was upended by LBSU’s Sheena Masuda, 6-3, 6-3. -- KTSM

Francis Gary Powers Jr. to lead screening of Spielberg film "Bridge of Spies"

That began to change when Powers Jr. enrolled as a freshman at California State University Northridge and pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon. There, one of the members of the fraternity asked him if he was related to the U-2 pilot. Powers decided it was time to confront his ignorance and begin learning about his dad’s life. In doing so, the pattern for his own life began to work itself out. He eventually became the leader of the fraternity and later founded and led the Cold War Museum located at Vint Hill Farms outside Washington It is a part of the Smithsonian. His work allowed him to see his father posthumously awarded the Silver Star and the Prisoner of War Medal. -- Times News

Rolaine James has joined BCC as Academic Success Coach in the Disability Resource Center. Previously, she was Assistive Technology Access Coordinator at Dartmouth College. She specializes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology tools for education. She earned a master of science degree in assistive technology and human services from California State University, Northridge and a BA in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies from California State University, Sacramento. -- Berkshire Edge
