John Sonsini at Inman Gallery

John Sonsini was born in Rome, NY in 1950, and earned a B.A. from California State University Northridge, CA in 1975. He has exhibited his paintings extensively for the past thirty years, including recent solo exhibitions at ACME. Los Angeles, CA (2010, 2008, 2006); the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, Utah State University, Logan, UT (2010); Atkinson Gallery, Santa Barbara City College, Santa Barbara, CA (2007); Cheim & Read, New York, NY (2007); and the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, CA (2005). His work is included in several prominent public collections including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, NY; the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA; and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, CA. Lady Matadors Tennis Extend Longest Winning Streak Since 2015

On Monday afternoon, the California State University, Northridge women’s tennis team extended its longest winning streak since 2015 when the Matadors defeated St. Thomas (Minn.) 7-0. CSUN’s eight-dual winning streak is tied for the seventh longest in school history, with a 1993 team that won eight in a row to begin the 1993 season. The Matadors won nine in a row during the 2015 campaign. -- SCV News

Hope Christian IB program sets standard for intl learning

Curriculum and Instruction consultant Roman Gania, who taught at International School Manila for a long time, and finished college at Brigham Young University-Utah and took his master's at the California State University, Northridge, said that with the K to 12 Humanities and STEM Design program in place, students can make connections among disciplines and construct their own understanding of meaningful cross-cutting concepts across disciplines. -- The Manila Times

Blaine Traxel pacing improved WVU pitching staff

Traxel is a good example to follow for young West Virginia pitchers. He successfully transitioned from being a reliever to a starter, racked up more than 200 strikeouts, and threw six complete games during his four years at Cal State Northridge. -- WOWK

CSUN Community Readies for Ramadan 2023

More than 1 billion Muslims around the world are preparing for Ramadan, and fasting which takes during the holiday is recognized as one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The monthlong observance is expected to begin at sundown on Wednesday, March 22 — a period of reflection, prayer and fasting. This includes many throughout the CSUN community — students, faculty, staff, alumni and families alike. -- SCV News
