Coach Cruz aims high
This spring, the Lady Rams have a new face at the helm. Roaring Fork Athletic Director Crista Barlow is thrilled to have brought new Head Coach Nicole Cruz into the fold. Hailing from Southern California, Cruz is a 13-year veteran of the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPSL), and an alumna of Cal State Northridge, who played NCAA Division I ball. Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Southern California, Don developed an interest in both music and animation early on. “My favorite films were One Hundred and One Dalmatians and The Jungle Book,” he recalls. “When I was a kid, we went and saw those at the drive-in, in the Rambler station wagon. We put our pajamas on, my dad would back up the station wagon, the tailgate would come down, and we would watch The Jungle Book.” In high school, he was as a member of the Los Angeles Junior Philharmonic, and he eventually studied music and art at Cal State Northridge. -- Daps Magic
