Celeste Rios, a Saugus High School graduate and freshman at CSUN, is known for going “above and beyond” in everything she does. Hollywood strikes have already had a $3 billion impact on California’s economy, experts say: It’s causing ‘a lot of hardship’

That’s according to estimates from Todd Holmes, a professor of entertainment industry management at Cal State Northridge, based on economic analysis from the last Writers Guild of America strike that started in 2007. That strike led to 37,700 lost jobs and a $2.1 billion blow to the California economy, according to the Milken Institute, an economic think tank. -- CNBC

CSUN Men’s Basketball Bolsters Team with New Transfers for 2023-24 Season

CSUN Head Men’s Basketball Coach Andy Newman has announced the signings of Jared Barnett and Jasman Sangha to the Matadors for the 2023-24 season. Barnett brings winning experience from his time at San Diego State, where he played in three NCAA Tournament games and helped the team win three conference championships. Sangha, a versatile forward/center, adds scoring options and playmaking ability to the Matadors’ frontcourt.
