Local residents recognized for accomplishments
John Allan Daly, raised in Oxnard and a graduate of Channel Islands High School, Oxnard College and CSU Northridge, was promoted to captain by SkyWest Airlines. Daly was promoted officially several months ago. He received his flight training first at CP Aviation at the Santa Paula Airport and later from Channel Islands Aviation in Camarillo, where he also served as a flight instructor before applying to SkyWest Airlines, where he trained on various jet planes. He is based at the Palm Springs Airport. Daly is the son of Linda Calderon, of Oxnard, and David Daly, of Fresno. -- Ventura County Star
