Common Questions:
- What does this job title mean? We recommend that you look at the information in the Occupational Outlook Handbook. This handy document is both on-line and in the CSUN library. It provides detailed descriptions of many job categories, including some that are not found on this web-site.
- What can I do if the job title is too broad? Sometimes infomation about majors and salaries will help differentiate the type of job within broad categories. For example, one of the broadest job categories is "executives and administrators." If you examine the majors of people in this category whose most recent degree is a masters, you'll find that the top two are "business administration and management" (median salary $72,773) and "education: administration" (median salary $52,279). It seems likely that these two majors are placing students in different types of jobs within the "executives and administrators" category. Presumably the probablity of becoming a school principal is greater with the a masters in "education administration" than the a masters in "business administration."
