Dear Principal Investigators and Research Administrators:
We hope your spring semester is going well. I want to make you aware of the staffing changes and get to know the new faces who have joined the Post-Award team.
Vanessa Wampler and I will continue to serve our PIs and research staff and will lead the post-award team. For most of you, you have already worked with Vanessa Wampler as your liaison for more than 3 years. Prior to joining TUC, she worked for 9 years as a Senior Budget and Management Specialist in Department of Budget and Management in the Office of the President of the Philippines. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Mathematics in Adamson University (Philippines). Her experience and knowledge in post-award administration is an asset to the team and TUC.
Both Marie Rillorta and Jose Llamas will be taking over as Project Liaisons and working as Post-Award Analysts beginning March 1, 2023. Marie Rillorta has a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Loyola Marymount University. She is a former practicing attorney and now volunteers her spare time to LA Family Housing in North Hollywood, Public Counsel in Los Angeles, and Our Lady of Lourdes in Northridge.
Jose Llamas received a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from CSUN. Before receiving his degree, he participated in the NSF CSU Alliance for Preparing Undergraduates through Mentoring towards PhDs sponsored project. He also formerly worked for TUC in the Food Services division.
Three of our staff have also joined our team in the last year.
Roxana Arguelles will coordinate projects and provide administrative support as a Post-Award Analyst Associate. She is a recent CSUN graduate with a B.S. in Professional Accountancy. Roxana previously worked for one of our sponsored projects, Creating Pathways/Abriendo Caminos, before transitioning to the TUC-Research and Sponsored Programs department.
Emeline (Emy) D’Sa is the Post-Award Administrative Analyst who assists our department with administrative compliance (cost share, effort reporting, asset management, and subrecipient monitoring) and audit. She has a B.S. in Accounting at the University of the East in Caloocan City, Philippines. She has accounting experience for over a decade.
Sam Vasquez is a part-time Administrative Assistant in the Post-Award department where he assists the liaisons on behind-the-scenes award management and administration. He is a current CSUN student in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.
We are still hiring staff in our department to provide us administrative support. If you know someone who is interested to join our team, please feel free to send them our Administrative Assistant posting.
I also would like to take this opportunity to let you all know the updated liaison assignments which will be effective March 1, 2023.
