Request for Input for Proposed New Release-Time Procedure

Dear Principal Investigators and Research Administrators:

 

We would like to ask for your comments and input regarding a proposed change to our current release-time procedure in Sponsored Programs.

 

At this time, in order to process release-time, PI’s:

 

1. Submit a ‘Request for Reimbursed Time’ to their MAR;  

(The request is then approved and processed by the MAR, CSUN-Financial Services, TUC-Sponsored Programs and TUC-Financial Services)  

 

1. Receive a copy of CSUN invoice for the reimbursed time;

 

1. Prepare a Check Request and submit it to TUC for the processing of payment.

 

 

We suggest eliminating Step 2 and 3. This would mean that PI’s no longer receive a copy of the CSUN invoice and  will not need to complete a Check Request. Once the PI submits the initial “Request for Reimbursed Time, ’ it would directly result in the processing of payment to CSUN.

 

We intend to implement the new procedure on July 1, 2017.
