January 14, 2021
Dear Principal Investigators and Research Administrators:
As we end the winter term and start the spring semester, we would like to remind you of the following:
New hires, including hiring new student employees
If you plan to hire new employees in your sponsored project, please remember to complete the new hire sign in process prior to allowing them to work on your project.
Federal regulations require all employers to verify that individuals are authorized to work in the United States. The Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) must be completed for every new employee (including citizens and noncitizen nationals of the United States) before the first day of work. Furthermore, failure to comply with these requirements may result in civil penalties incurred by The University Corporation and CSU Northridge.
Please contact tuchr@csun.edu or your Post-award liaison if you have any questions or need assistance with the process.
Additional Pay – Winter 2021 (DUE: January 20, 2020)
Please note that additional pay system for winter 2021 will be closing soon. All winter 2021 pre-authorization requests must be submitted by January 20, 2021. After this date, you will not be able to enter any requests for winter 2021 semester.
Below are the guidelines for submitting additional pay on any sponsored project for winter 2021:
- AY Faculty can submit pre-authorization to work up to 12 days (100%) on a federal project and 3 days (25%) on a non-federal project.
