About Us
The
Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP) has been in existence
for over twenty-five years serving middle and high school students
that live in the area that surrounds California State University,
Northridge. Our goal for the SAEP is to provide nurturing
classrooms where students can
1. Take
courses that allow them to progress in a sequence (such as our
math and language classes)
2. Repeat
a course they have already completed
3. Take
courses that might not be offered at their regular school
We
hire California credentialed teachers to teach all our academic
classes. In addition, we hire credentialed teachers, or bring
in content specialists, for the enrichment classes who have demonstrated
unique knowledge, experience, and teaching skills. Each year we
evaluate our program and ask the students to assess their teachers
and experiences and then try to implement changes accordingly.
(We have added four courses this year as per the suggestion of
students last summer.)
This
year, as you have noticed, we are utilizing the technology of the
World Wide Web and have migrated the vast majority of our information
to our website. You can register your child online, read
course descriptions, see class syllabi, be aware of special events,
etc. We are trying to make our site as interactive and helpful
as possible. In addition, our faculty will be using a web-based
grading program so that you can access your child's grades and
correspond with teachers as frequently as you would like. This
is a work in progress and we would appreciate any comments (praises
or suggestions) that you might have regarding our program. Our
program exists for the benefit of our children.
