Pride Center: Club Q Shooting Statement

November 22, 2022

The Pride Center is saddened, heartbroken and enraged by the shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs. This horrific act of violence, on the eve of Trans Day of Remembrance, has taken cherished family and community members. Let us all pay our respects, honor and celebrate the lives of Daniel David Aston, Raymond Green, Kelly Loving, Ashley Paugh and Derrick Rump.

It is imperative to act against homophobia, transphobia and LGBQIA+ hate and violence. The impact of the harm done through misinformation, prejudice and discrimination extends far beyond the moments of individual hurt. It manifests into anti-LGBTQIA+ policies and acts of violence that cause further death and devastation within our community.

We know our community at CSUN is experiencing heartbreak, fear, anxiety, anger and shock. We are committed to creating inclusive spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community at CSUN, educating the campus community and advocating for the needs of LGBTQIA+ students. The Pride Center is here to offer you support and connection during this difficult time as we collectively grieve and process. In addition to the Pride Center, we would like to share additional resources of support:
