StrengthUnited and the Mitchell Family Counseling Clinic, both chartered centers of CSUN’s Michael D. Eisner College of Education, are pleased to announce that they are merging their services and resources to provide greater opportunities for our students and our community. As of December 2021, the two centers began operating under StrengthUnited’s single charter to provide training for undergraduate and graduate students, and 24/7 crisis intervention, mental health, prevention, education, and outreach services to the broader community and campus.

StrengthUnited (SU) provides crisis intervention and support for those who have experienced trauma as survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child maltreatment. The Mitchell Clinic (MFCC) provides relational therapy including treatment for individuals and families for issues such as anxiety and depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and more. The merger allows the centers to increase the scope and scale of services they can offer, and provide a more comprehensive continuum of care for their clients while providing students with expanded educational opportunities.

SU’s focus on crisis intervention, trauma, and violence prevention provides a critical community service for survivors at their most vulnerable. And MFCC’s focus on more comprehensive relational therapy addresses the continuing, longer-term needs of clients. The joining of services comes at a critical time, meeting the urgent need for more mental health services in our communities.

To obtain trauma-focused services for clients, call our 24/7 support and resource line: 818-886-0453 or 661-253-0258; and for relational counseling services, call 818-677-2568.
