Walk a Mile in Their Shoes: A March Against Sexual and Domestic Violence at the California State University, Northridge campus is an unparalleled community event held each fall. At the march, hundreds of community members and students gather and walk a mile through campus and local city streets, expressing solidarity with victims of violence. Many men at the march wear women’s high-heels and literally march a mile in her shoes through Northridge’s busy streets. The march is followed by a community resource and activity expo for participants, volunteers and their families.
