Dear Principal Investigators and Research Administrators:
Effective September 30, 2021, The California State University has expanded travel prohibitions for business travel to include Ohio. Due to this, the list of banned states have been updated.
Additional information specific to this change can be found on the State of California Department of Justice website. AB 1887 travel restrictions are effective January 1, 2017 and apply to all CSU employees, officers, or members, as well as non-employee travelers, including students.
What does it mean for your sponsored projects?
If you will be traveling to any of the banned states, you will need to follow the campus travel approval procedures for banned states:
Type of Travel | Procedure | Form(s) needed |
Traveling to a banned state | 1. Complete the Essential Travel Request Form and Request for Approval of Travel to Prohibited States Under Assembly Bill 1887. | Essential Travel Request Form (please request the form from your liaison, or from Thuy Wong) |
Current travel and reimbursement guidelines are posted on this link. Current travel procedures can be found here.
Please reach out to me or Thuy Wong, TUC eTravel Analyst, if you have any questions.
Thank you,
