CPA EXAM FOCUSED: | Along with cost-free use of the Becker CPA review course while enrolled in the program, students in this 32-unit program will be well prepared to sit for the CPA exam with the requisite knowledge and skills in accounting. While the curriculum goes beyond materials covered on the CPA exam, students will be introduced to concepts tested on the CPA exams throughout the program. |
CPA CAPSTONE CULMINATING EXPERIENCE: | In close alignment with the CPA exam, the program integrates a required culminating experience course at the end of the program that is designed to fully prepare the students to sit for the CPA exam before or upon graduation. |

COMPREHENSIVE CAREER ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM (CAP): | Uniquely available to CSUN Nazarian MPAcc students, the EY Center for Careers offers students a vast array of resources to support and enhance their career trajectory in the field of accounting. The EY Center's programs and services aid in your search for accounting internships, part-time jobs and full-time career opportunities. The services include: dedicated recruiting Boot Camp for MPAcc students, individual guidance on career opportunities, on-campus recruiting & workshops, peer career support, on-campus career hub, and networking events throughout the program. Eighty percent of graduates who reported working full time one year after graduation obtained their full time offer prior to the end of the program and 20% obtained it within six months after graduation. |
COHORT FORMAT: | Students enter the program and proceed through the curriculum as a group. This format provides students with the advantages of guaranteed enrollment in every class and a predetermined schedule of classes for the entire program. Learning is facilitated by seminar-style instruction and a curriculum carefully designed to ensure that each successive course builds on what has been learned in earlier courses. The cohort format also provides opportunities for maximizing interaction with the faculty and developing valuable networking relationships with fellow students. |
PRACTICE ORIENTED: | The program integrates theory and practice throughout the curriculum and provides multiple, optional outstanding clinical-experience opportunities, including participation in the Bookstein Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, and the CSUN Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Clinic. |
