Assistant Superintendent, Groton-Dunstable School District and Best-selling author of UDL Now! and UDL in the Cloud Katie Novak will speak on "Universial Design for Learning (EDL): Because What We're Doing Isn't Working for All".
Are you concerned by statistics that tell us that fewer than half of the 8th graders in the U.S. are proficient readers, that over 1.3 million students drop out each year, or that a mere 11% of CEOs believe that college graduates are prepared for the world of work? What we are doing in PK-12 and higher education isn't working for many students. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) might be the answer! UDL is a proactive way of designing instruction to optimize student voice and choice. Come to this action-oriented talk to learn more about what UDL is, how to implement it in the classroom at any level, and how it can transform education to improve student success and outcomes.
This event is FREE, however, you must register here.
American sign language interpreters will be provided. Note to off-campus guests: parking passes are required and may be purchased for $8 at any campus information booth.
