Description:
Readers in this class will enjoy the opportunity to select novels of their choice to read independently. Tasks will include reflecting on their reading in daily journals and through creative presentations. Students will engage in lively discussions with their peers through teacher-directed seminars while using their unique perspectives, as developed in the context of their own reading journeys, to inform their perspectives and positions on relevant topics. Students in this class will grow in their understanding of History, the Sciences, and the Arts, as well as philosophy and ethics, as they listen to podcasts, watch TED Talks, and read articles that will appeal to the curious, resourceful minds of young learners.
